KELT Les Quatre Vents, is French for the « four winds » North, East, West and South. It is a tribute to the Tour du Monde, Ocean Maturation unique to KELT. In the late 1980s the founder Mr. Kelt came across sizeable quantities of three extremely rare cognacs which he combined to create the most exceptional Grande Champagne experience that he had ever had.
Mr. Kelt decided that 2800 bottles of each wind would be made available making a total of 11200 bottles. The remaining liquid was reserved for the family. Even within the family the cognac is consumed very rarely. It is put aside like gold bars for the following generations and as such is like a collectors item even within the family.
Once the blending is completed we embark on the Tour du Monde. This is the legendary 3 month Ocean Maturation exclusive to KELT which brings out hidden qualities in the Limousin oak and rounds off the cognac in a beautiful and unique way making the KELT cognac the smoothest on the market while presenting a remarkably broad pallet of tastes and aromas.
We use our extensive experience and stock of Limousin oak barrels in the most creative way to get the maximum effect from the Ocean Maturation. For our Commodore we use barrels of between 22-28 years of a particular quality and history. The exact composition and details are a closely guarded secret know only to two persons within the company.
The blending and Tour du Monde together with its rarity puts the Petra in the extreme luxury and collectors category.
